The next meeting of the Progressive Coalition will be Wednesday May 3rd. This month's forum will present a panel discussion on the Health of the County's Health Care. The Progressive Coalition meets at 7 pm in the Franklin Center, 1136 E. Montecito Street. Volunteer to Register Voters

If you can help with voter registration on May 6th and 7th at the Cinco de Mayo Festival, contact Sally Hearon at sjmiko@msm.com.

Second District Activists will conduct voter registration at City College, Monday through Friday, May 8th - May 19th. If you can help out, contract Jim MacMillan at imtravelin@hotmail.com.

Monday May 22nd is the last day before the June 6th Election to update or change your voter registration, or to get a new voter in your house registered. May 30th is the last day to request an absentee ballot if you are going to be out of town on Election Day. The SB Elections Office is located at 130 E. Victoria St., near Santa Barbara St., in the Naomi Schwartz Building, 568-2200.

Join MotherHeart on Mother's Day, May 14th at 2:00 p.m. at Stearns Wharf Arlington West. MotherHeart will feature moms who have lost a child in Iraq. MotherHeart hopes that enough people will attend to encircle the crosses (currentlly over 2,300), holding hands and expressing hope for peace and compassision.
